The Importance of End of Year Maintenance

2013 is almost over and 2014 is just around the corner. As the year ends and another begins, now is a great time for maintenance and equipment upgrades. It’s always good to begin a new year with everything working as it should.
We do just that every year. Our customers typically close facilities the last week of the year, to celebrate the holidays, of course, but also for maintenance. Leading up to this week, we perform pre-plan plant maintenance, and during that week, we perform repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance throughout the plant, making sure everything is in perfect condition. We think it’s a great way to start the year.
In general, what are some things to consider for maintenance? Perform equipment evaluations, and take a look at what’s wearing on machines, what needs to be replaced, and what can be done preventatively. Perform EMPS on blast machines, and consider upgrades when necessary. In general, evaluate what conditions things are in, and plan for the future.
For us, we find practicing preventative versus reactive maintenance is the way to keep things working well at all times. By fixing things before they break, we’re saving everyone time and money and working as efficiently as possible. We look at all bearings and springs on vibratory machines, and specifically at each type of machine, catering to each customer’s and equipment’s needs. This ensures nothing is overlooked.
We look forward to another great year, and wish you all happy holidays, and a very happy New Year!
